Cognition and Learning

Package 1 – Universal

Small group teaching (1:4), HQT, learning mats, visual resources, literacy & numeracy checks, daily reading, rest breaks, adaptations, multi-sensory learning, growth mindset / strength-based approach, preparing for adulthood sessions.

Package 2 – Targeted

Sensory breaks, speech-to-text tools, nurture groups, 1:1 catch-up, literacy interventions such as IDL.

Package 3 – Specialist

Adapted curriculum, EBSA plans, Precision Teaching / tailored intervention, personalised pathways, Zones of Regulation. NCFE well-being curriculum accreditation.

Package 3+ – Bespoke

OT & SENDCo support/ assessments, tailored curriculum, bespoke support/adaptations, SALT / specialist support referrals, OT led 1:1 independent learning skills.

Communication & Interaction

Package 1 – Universal

Visual aids, dual coding, social stories, online safety, and staff modelling positive interaction.

Package 2 – Targeted

Widgit, communication games, keyworker support, personalised plans, student voice roles, tutor time, emotion coaching.

Package 3 – Specialist

Highly personalised timetables, Lego Therapy, 1:1 well-being sessions, social interaction packages, 1:3 ratio teaching, ELSA, circle of friends/ communication support.

Package 3+ – Bespoke

SLT referrals / therapy, OT-led interaction support and assessments, external referrals, and tailored adult ratios for high need cases.

Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH)

Package 1 – Universal

Daily check-ins, Class Dojo/ rewards, well-being staff, restorative practice, regular tutor time, personal key person, emotion coaching, sports, preparing for adulthood sessions

Package 2 – Targeted

Mentoring, emotional regulation tools, emotion coaching, peer support, Circle of Friends, well-being sessions, group wellbeing activities.

Package 3 – Specialist

EHCP / CAMHS, nurture units, referrals, Forest School, animal-based well-being, external agency input, CPD for complex needs, nurture setting, ELSA; Emotional literacy/ Emotional intelligence.

Package 3+ – Bespoke

1:1 intensive support for well-being (timetabled/crisis), OT-led SEMH support OT and SENDCo observations/ assessments, custom staffing.

Sensory & Physical

Package 1 – Universal

Flexible seating, handwriting tools, fidget tools, overlays, coloured paper, daily physical activity.

Package 2 – Targeted

Provision of environmental adaptations designed to optimise sensory and physical engagement in the classroom.

Package 3 – Specialist

Medication support, tactile resources, group sensory circuits/ sessions, mobility assistance, ECO sensory therapy.

Package 3+ – Bespoke

OT assessments, sensory diets/audits, motor skill development, personalised sensory support and referrals to specialist services, transition support. OT led 1:1 sensory sessions.
